5-21-10: Moved boat to LMC to stage
for haul-out on Monday. Trips deep into the New River are always
interesting - it's narrow like the Fox River and hosts megayachts and
riverboats (Jungle Queen, etc.) which make squeezing through very tight
in some spots. |

7-23-10: We had flat calm and little for this, our first,
overnight trip up the bay. We decided to go with an overnight
rather than anchor at night and do only day sails largely because of the
predicted heat. As it is, the heat index at the moment is 106°. |

8-6-10: Just out for a quick daysail today. Finally
got Gregg's parents out on the boat and surprise guest, Matt Alagna was
in town so he came along as well. Testing port engine overheat
problem - still overheating when under load.

10-2-10: Passage started out really
uncomfortable with 20+ knots of wind and beam seas. As we turned
south, the ride became more of a sleigh-ride and much more pleasant.
It was a cold night, but fortunately all the rain had passed. Very
dark with no moon until around 4 a.m. Lots of ship traffic - as we
were crossing the Potomac, Jen was dodging 4 ships and a tug at one
time. |
